A cantilever parasol (also called a banana, overhanging or side-post parasol) holds the canopy from an arm at the side. The base sits out of the way and the shade falls over whatever is underneath: a corner sofa, a hot tub, a pair of sun loungers, or a dining table without a hole for a pole.Our three models come in 3 m round, 3 m square and 3.5 m. Unlike a centre pole parasol, a cantilever model doesn’t need a hole through the middle of a table. The side-post arm holds the canopy clear of whatever sits beneath it, so it works over corner sofas, hot tubs, daybeds and sun loungers where a central pole simply won’t fit.

Pick a canopy that overhangs your furniture by at least 50 cm on each side, so you stay in the shade as the sun moves.

Our frames are heavy duty aluminium with a reinforced mast, but any parasol should be closed in strong wind and when left unattended. A correctly weighted base is what keeps it stable.
